WCU is serves as an early voting polling place for General and Primary Elections. The polling place can be found on the 2nd floor of the UC in the Multipurpose Room during election seasons. During the Fall 2024 election season, the early voting polling place will be open Thursday, October 17th through Saturday, November 2nd for any Jackson County voters.

CCESL is committed to providing voter information and civic education resources for all WCU community members. This includes not only residential students, but commuter students, distance students, and faculty and staff as well.
North Carolina Now requires photo ID to vote. If you are voting in-person, you must bring your ID with you when you go to the polling site. If you are voting by mail, you must attach a photocopy of your ID along with your ballot. CatCards can be used as a voter ID as long as your legal name is on the card. Driverβs license can also be used as an ID. Find more information about the types of accepted voter ID at the North Carolina Board of Elections. If you do not have any accepted form of ID, one can be made for you free of charge at your local board of elections.
